Defining the symbol for one of the worlds most-loved brands.
After the success of 'The Stack' - Gretel's global brand system for Netflix, they came back to us with a further challenge; to create a symbol that not only worked as an app icon and a visual shorthand for the Netflix logo, but to integrate this symbol seamlessly into the existing brand system.
With hundreds of iterations and countless rounds of development, we perfected the now iconic Netflix 'N' symbol. We developed a system of behavior that allowed the symbol to integrate with the logo and live within The Stack. We then rolled this out across touchpoints spanning print, motion and digital, while developing guidelines for its ongoing use by Netflix's internal team and design partners.
